Joining the School of Media as a specialist lecturer in Music Industries and Popular Music Studies, you’ll contribute to our well-established suite of BA courses and undertake some teaching at postgraduate level.
About the role
We’ll look to you to ensure an excellent student experience through the use of relevant and inspiring learning, teaching, support and assessment methods. Your teaching activities will be further enhanced by your contributions to research, enterprise and scholarship within your specialist field. You’ll also provide support and mentoring to individual students and will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for leading a module or programme and for managing projects.
About you
We’re looking for someone who can enthuse and engage students while making a substantial contribution to the School’s research and enterprise activity. We welcome expertise in areas such as music enterprise and innovation, digital music, music policy, music business, music promotion/PR and popular music studies. Experience of teaching and research is preferred, though not essential.

We welcome experts in media theory and cultural studies who also have experience of teaching and research. You’re someone who can enthuse and engage students while making a substantial contribution to the School’s research and enterprise activity. A relevant research profile and a track-record of professional achievements are essential. Capable of developing new knowledge and understanding within the field, you’ll also have the ability to apply and exchange knowledge through teaching and other activities.
