Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference 2007 

"Progression Routes in Music Technology Education"

The Leeds International Music Technology Education Conference (LIMTEC), now in its fifth year, is one of the leading events of its kind in the UK, and continues to provide a forum for the promotion of good practice in music technology and music production based teaching and learning in Further and Higher Education. 

LIMTEC will offer lively debate and stimulating presentations, which will address issues of the place of music technology within the broader context of the performing arts sector, research and professional communities. The focus of this year's conference is the progression routes in music technology education, and associated subjects, from school through to postgraduate level. 

Keynote Speaker: Andrew Kitchenham (The Music Technology Centre) Andrew has been involved with GCE Music Technology in a number of roles and held the position of Chair of Examiners at EDEXCEL until April 2007. His keynote address will explore the role of music technology within the 21st century music curriculum, making particular emphasis on the effective use of technology as a vehicle to facilitate the creation of original music with students who have little traditional performing skill.
